Triune of Texas BJJ took its annual trip down to Austin, Texas, to participate in Tap Cancer Out. This year, we were awarded a banner from Tap Cancer Out for raising more than $20,000 towards cancer research in the few years we have been attending. On top of that, both our youth and adult teams brought home medals. As a team, we also took 3rd out of 70 teams represented (11 golds, 6 silvers, 5 bronze medals). Among the top three teams, we had the best win/loss ratio. We did this all with a smaller team as well. The second-place team had 30 more matches than Triune, and first place had double the amount of matches as us! On the adult side, Triune brought four adults and brought home 2 gold medals and 1 silver (Tap Cancer Out is a gi-only tournament, so you only compete in one division). If you're only going to compete once a year, Professor Jimmy always pushes for it to be at Tap Cancer Out because it's competing for a good cause. Good job, Triune, on a successful weekend!
